QUOTATION

"When improvising, there's no such thing as a wrong note, only notes that are better chosen, and it's not about the notes you played, it's about the note you play next."

PERFORMANCES THAT INSPIRE & ENCOURAGE

During my overseas travels, I join my students, their friends and families and, on occasion, a well-known professional guitarist for an informal gathering where we share our solo or group performances in a relaxed and supportive environment.

The Recital Café provides a great chance for my students – both younger and older, as well as beginners and advanced – to be inspired and motivated by the musical accomplishments of others. Although I encourage all of my students to participate at least once (and the majority of them do), just being present can be a rewarding experience in itself.

Throughout the year, various cafés, in the international cities I visit, serve as temporary, private venues for this evening-time event. Students are notified, well in advance, of the date, time and location of each upcoming Recital Café.
